Time with Daddy

A week or so ago, Charis asked her daddy if they could go on a date. So he planned, thought, and prepared, and came up with a date perfect for such a little princess. He stopped by Panera Bread and bought some pumpkin muffies (and was questioned by the cashier about his proudly worn pink beaded bracelet, made by Charis), prepared a tea party type lunch, and took her to the Lotus Park. I love this...it's so Charis (and Brian). Gazing out at the landscape, daydreaming, and leaning on her Daddy's knee.

More Busch Gardens...

Atalie's first big ride! As soon as the ride started, she yelled, "Hand!!" and grabbed Brian and Austin's hands.

Charis turned 3! (Last month..oops)

Charis turned 3 last month and we had a little celebration at our house! She decided she wanted a castle cake for her princess themed party, so I tried my hand at something other than a sheet cake. :) Not terrible for a first attempt, but it was a little tilty. Our friends and family blessed her with all things girly...Fancy Nancy, princesses, dress up stuff, etc.
She had so much fun...and just for the record, she still talks about her birthday party at least every other day.

Strawberry Picking

Strawberry season came and went so fast this year. We went 2-3 times a week from beginning to the end of the season. I think cool days and tons of rain ended the season earlier than expected. (boo) We found out just yesterday that the fields are pretty much closed. Only one farm that we could find still has You-Pick strawberries, and they are only expected to be able to be picked until Friday. We chose this field to pick from most days since they don't spray chemicals or pesticides on their plants.
Charis didn't eat nearly as many this year. She was more concerned with finding ladybugs (which were there in multitudes) and giving them our freshly picked berries. She was convinced that's what they wanted to eat. :)
Atalie could be found doing one of two things: tripping or eating. She ate the berries stem and all.
Can't wait 'til blueberry picking time!
